June 29th - spent the evening photographing this cute couple for their wedding announcements.
July 4th - Started out the morning at Provo Freedom Festival's grand parade. Baked a whole bunch of chocolate chip cookies and took the kids to Uncle Jared's and Aunt Kate's for a BBQ. Grandpa and Grandma took them home later to set off fireworks and have a sleepover. Brooke and I enjoyed our very own air-conditioned loge at the "Stadium of Fire." The Blue Man Group was great, Miley Cyrus, not-so-great, and as usual, the fireworks were absolutely amazing. Traffic afterward was horrid, so we hung out and explored the other loge levels for an hour or so before returning home.
July 7th-12th - Caiden went to scout camp at Bear Lake. They were the only troop that slept in tee pee tents and they were much envied by the other troops throughout the week. He had a lot of opportunities to grow as well as a lot of fun. As senior patrol leader of his troop, he had the "opportunity" to report about camp in Sacrament Meeting the morning after returning.
July 11th - Alex's 8th birthday. It's hard to believe that my baby is already 8 years old! We went swimming at new local aquatic complex, had dinner at Wendy's with Grandma and Grandpa (Alex's choice) and had a bunch of neighbors over to watch Enchanted on our big screen in the front yard, and then finally had cake and ice cream and opened presents after 11 p.m.! Alex said it was his best day ever!
July15th -Alex's birthday party with seven little guests between the ages of 7 and 8 as well as his two older brothers. They decorated their own cupcakes, blew out candles (making a wish for Alex, of course), opened presents, and swung at a pinata and took home loot bags full of all sorts of goodies from Zurchers. A great time was had by all...and then I took a long nap!
July 19th - Our 17th wedding anniversary - had great fun re-living the 80s at The Police concert and then stayed at a nice hotel up in SL valley while the boys and Harvey had yet another sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's.
Today, July 23rd - Had a great time visiting with one of my best friends, Darla, who is visiting from Chicagoland. We went to the aquatic center and her boys and mine had fun swimming while we visited for nearly three hours. She only comes out to Utah once a year and she has a lot of family to visit, so it was wonderful to have her all to myself today!
