Rollercoaster Ride
Caiden is not doing so well today. He has had a stomachache, vomiting, and diarrhea all day. The on-call neurologist insisted that it wasn't related to the Miller-Fisher syndrome and referred us to our pediatrician. It is probably a stomach bug that has been going around. Yesterday, he was looking and doing so well. Today, his ataxia (loss of ability to coordinate movement) is worse again and he is really weak. He is on phenergan to help with the nausea and we are waking him up every 15 minutes to give him an electrolyte solution (per the pediatrician's instructions). We really wish we had waited until this morning for him to be discharged. I am positive that they would not have discharged him, then he would have at least been able to have his phenergan and fluids through an IV and maybe something to help with the cramping. He also has a headache and his back still hurts from the lumbar puncture. The poor kid is absolutely miserable.

I am so sorry Caiden is still struggling. Hopefully today he is feeling better. I will try to call tomorrow.
